Reflections
Designing for physical items forced me to start learning photoshop. Even though learning softwares is quite tricky at times, working on projects like these help make the process a lot more interesting.
Another part of designing physical items is that it requires me to negotiate and list requirements to the business owners that are in charge of the production process, which overall I found to be quite smooth. Every time I reached out to a business owner, I felt more confident and familiar on how to structure my requirements so that they were on the same page.
I'd say my favorite of these is probably the hoodie I designed for our school's mock trial club, which I still wear on a regular basis!
During sophomore year, I began to approach more diverse mediums for designs. I started designing merchandise for my school clubs and events through hoodies, stickers, etc. I enjoyed learning to negotiate with supply manufacturers and designing on different surfaces. It feels extremely comforting to hold one of your own designs in your hands!
